How old were you when you first started playing, who taught you to play and who most influenced your development as a young player?
Sole has taught me most of what I know because I've had few/limited coaches. Every one on my wind team influenced me to work harder because I hated being the worst player.
What's been the single best moment of your soccer career thus far, at any level of competition?
Winning the ODP national title in PK's. I know that it was just 'ODP' but it was the best feeling ever.
What are your long-term goals in the sport?
To be a successful player.
What has been the most valuable aspect of being trained by the Academy coaches?
You learn what's expected of you to become a pro. The coaches could easily just let us play because we have great players but they all push us harder and it's nice to know that someone cares.
What has training with the Academy taught you about yourself as a player and where do you need improvement?
Everywhere. Shooting, strength (both physically and mentally), touch and vision. Every player is good at something so it's great to learn directly from them.
What is the most difficult part of training with the Academy?
Everyone is good and works hard. Going to a grueling practice with one and a half hour cross-fit training after school is hard, especially since everything is expected to be perfect.
Does the training differ from past training you've had, and in what way?
Yes, everything is more more structured than I've ever seen it.
Which of your Academy teammates impresses you the most and why?
Billy works extremely hard and is a natural leader, B and Harry are fun to play with because of their creativity. And Woj also is extremely underrated and is getting exponentially better through his hard work.
Which of the other U-16 or U-18 Academy players impresses you and why?
Victor is the most creative player I've ever seen or played with. |
